The Piedmont Area High Performance Manufacturing Association (HPMA)
cordially invites you to our next HPMA dinner event. Our guest speaker, Mike Lucas, will speak about the Apollo 11 Mission.
Tuesday, December 10th
5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden
215 South Main Street
Mike Lucas has lived his childhood dream of being an airline pilot. He has recently retired as Captain of the Airbus A-320. In his 48 years in
aviation, he has logged more than 26,000 flight hours. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
Capt. Lucas has had a fascination with spaceflight since childhood, and clearly remembers NASA's early years. He was very fortunate as a teenager to meet and become friends with Alan
Shepard. Over the years he has had occasion to meet most of the other astronauts who made history in the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs. Presentations generally address NASA history and the
human spaceflight programs leading to the lunar landing missions. Additional subjects include JPL robotic missions exploring our Solar System.
As a reminder, HPMA meetings
encourage learning, networking, and collaboration, but solicitation of business is prohibited at all times.
Cost for this dinner event is $25 per person. To register, please contact Bridgett Roach at the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce: firstname.lastname@example.org.
